Wide-flange beams connect to wide-flange column flanges using top and bottom continuity plates and bolted shear plates. The continuity plates match the thickness of the larger beam flange and are detailed with additional plates on each side when dimension X exceeds three inches. Shear plates, bolts, and welds are sized per the schedule on detail 1/S601. Field welds at the top and bottom flanges follow American Institute of Steel Construction minimum requirements.
