This sound attenuation boot for a return air grille is constructed from one-inch ductboard and incorporates internal baffling to reduce noise transmission through the HVAC ductwork. The assembly has a nominal profile measuring twenty-four inches by twenty-four inches overall, with a twelve-inch by twenty-four-inch throat opening. Internal acoustic baffles are set at a thirty-degree angle with a minimum clearance of three and a half inches, dividing the interior vertical dimensions into seven-inch and four-inch segments.
