Pipes passing through concrete floor slabs and walls are installed within pipe sleeves with two inches of clearance, filled with fireproof mastic or nonshrink grout for core-drilled applications. The annular space around the insulated or uninsulated pipe is packed with backup material and sealed at the surface. A pipe escutcheon is fitted against the wall or floor surface for a finished appearance. Core-drilled penetrations utilize nonshrink grout to secure the sleeve.
