A hydronic water pipe is suspended from an overhead concrete slab using a clevis-type pipe hanger, such as Kin Line number 455 or equal, secured with an expansion nut anchored into the concrete. The pipe is wrapped in calcium silicate insulation to prevent thermal loss. A continuous sheet metal sleeve is provided under the hanger to protect and avoid crushing the insulation.
