Branch ductwork connects to the main supply and return ducts at a 45-degree angle using a cinch collar lock. A volume damper is installed in the main duct when there are no future branch take-offs, with additional volume dampers located inside the branch ductwork as indicated per the volume damper detail. The offset dimension L is determined by the width W divided by four, with a four-inch minimum. Duct sizes are to be verified per the mechanical plans.
