A vertical pipe passes through a concrete floor slab supported by a metal deck within a six-inch galvanized pipe sleeve. A one-quarter-inch gap around the perimeter is filled with acoustical sealant on both sides, complemented by backer rod and fiberglass insulation. Waterproof caulk is applied at the slab surface for waterproof floors only. Firestopping material is installed at rated floors on both sides of the assembly, and pipe insulation is provided where required.
