A sheet metal sound boot lined with one-inch acoustic duct liner connects to a return air grille using two sheet metal screws on each side. The assembly requires a minimum twelve-inch throat, a minimum four-inch throat, and a minimum six-inch width equal to half the grille width. Hangers support the sound boot directly from the overhead building structure.
