An electrode steam humidifier connects to a rooftop unit via a copper steam supply pipe sized per the manufacturer's recommendations and insulated with a minimum of 2.5 inches of fiberglass insulation with an aluminum jacket. The supply piping maintains a 10-degree minimum upslope and a 2-degree minimum downslope back to the unit. A condensate return line installs per the manufacturer's recommendations alongside a fill cup extension as applicable. A half-inch domestic cold water makeup line provides reverse osmosis water to the system. The unit discharges through a 3/4-inch minimum Type L copper drain line routed to a floor sink with a fixed air gap fitting and an automatic condensate tempering system that limits temperature to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
