A variable air volume box with controls connects to a medium pressure main supply duct using a conical fitting or forty-five degree tap-in with a square to round transition. Rigid spiral round ductwork leads into the inlet, requiring a straight duct length of a minimum of two and a half times the inlet diameter. The transition piece maintains a maximum included angle of thirty degrees.
