A concrete footing construction joint between a first pour and a second pour incorporates continuous footing reinforcement per plan and required lap splice lengths. The vertical joint interface features continuous keys measuring seven and one-half inches high at fifteen inches on center with a typical spacing of eight inches and a maximum slope of one to four. Notes specify that welded splices are required for number fourteen and larger bars. For continuous footings under walls, the joint must be located at one-quarter of the clear opening width above from the face of the opening, or within the middle one-third of the distance between columns.
