The water heater rests on a four-inch concrete housekeeping pad and is secured with two two-inch by fourteen-gauge sheet metal straps anchored using four five-sixteenth-inch diameter lag screw anchors with one-and-one-quarter-inch embedment. Cold water supply piping includes a typical shut-off valve, check valve, expansion tank installed per manufacturer recommendations, vacuum relief valve, and thermometer. Hot water supply and recirculation lines incorporate typical unions and shut-off valves. Natural gas supply feeds the unit through a typical shut-off cock. Venting and intake utilize three-inch chlorinated polyvinyl chloride piping connected to a concentric vent. A condensate drain line runs to the nearest floor drain with a one-inch air gap provided per code.
