Rectangular duct risers pass vertically through a shaft opening framed by shaft walls with clear inner dimensions provided by others. Structural steel support members span across the shaft opening to carry the duct load. Fasteners are installed typically to secure the duct to the steel supports as required. Attachment of the steel supports to the structure follows the seismic anchorage submittal, including minimum edge distance requirements.
