The water softener tank and brine tank rest on a four inch high concrete pad above the floor line. The softener tank connects to hard water in and soft water out lines featuring ball valves, unions, a water meter, a multi-port valve, and a drain line running full size to a floor sink. Two inch by fourteen gauge galvanized sheet metal straps provide seismic bracing anchored with five-sixteenth inch diameter lag screws with two inch embedment or one-quarter inch diameter expansion anchors with one and one-quarter inch embedment, typical of four per tank.
