An air separator connects to the system inlet and routes flow toward the pump suction with pipe sizes determined per drawings. An automatic air vent with a shut-off valve is mounted at the top of the separator, with a three-eighths-inch drain line routing to a floor drain or floor sink. A drain valve with a hose end connection is installed at the bottom of the separator, maintaining required clearance for strainer removal. An expansion tank connects to the main line through a union, supplied by a glycol fill station using thirty percent polypropylene glycol and featuring a one-inch branch line.
