A flexible duct runout connects to a supply or return main duct containing an optional volume damper and transitions to a linear slot diffuser plenum. The flexible duct requires a minimum centerline turning radius of two and one-half times the diameter, with runout lengths maintained between three feet minimum and five feet maximum. The connection uses clamps and duct sealer at joints. The linear diffuser plenum is lined with one-half inch acoustical insulation and features a four-inch deep interior painted black. Duct straps and seismic supports anchor the plenum and runout assembly adjacent to the wall construction.
