A rooftop exhaust fan, either upblast or downblast per the equipment schedule, sits on a manufacturer-supplied roof curb with a nailer strip set and leveled by the general contractor. A manufacturer-supplied backdraft damper is installed within the throat of the curb above the duct connection. The curb height is ordered to extend approximately eight inches above the finished roof. Roofing materials are installed as required by the general contractor, tying into the base of the curb.
