An upblast exhaust fan mounts directly to a prefabricated insulated roof curb seated over a roof decking or slab opening. A gasket or sealant is placed between the fan base and the curb, supplemented by integral counterflashing secured to the curb. A motorized damper sits within the throat below the fan, while a birdscreen and disconnect switch are integrated into the fan unit. A one-inch clear opening is maintained around the duct assembly to allow for movement, and roofing materials tie into the curb base per architectural drawings.
