A pipe penetrates a sound-rated partition with a full perimeter gap measuring three-eighths of an inch, plus or minus one-eighth of an inch wide, sealed airtight using acoustical sealant. Independent pipe supports are provided on both sides of the partition as required, ensuring the pipe is not supported directly by the partition.
