An aluminum fence post is mounted to a concrete footing supported by a structural slab. A two-inch square aluminum post receives an internal stainless steel stanchion welded to a five-inch by five-inch base plate, which is anchored with rods welded to the plate. The concrete footing is reinforced with four vertical number four bars and number four stirrups spaced at six inches on center. Rigid insulation and a waterproofing system wrap the footing perimeter. All welds and sharp edges are ground smooth, and the assembly receives a powder-coated finish in a color to be determined.
