An isolation valve is installed on the main water supply line with a ten-inch round Carson-Brooks 910 valve box placed over it. The box is set at the finish grade in turf areas and level with mulch in planting beds, supported by brick pavers typically beneath its base flanges. A six-inch PVC Schedule 40 pipe sleeve extends four to six inches below grade around the valve operator. A six-inch minimum depth of three-quarter-inch washed aggregate surrounds the base within the excavated area.
