A pop-up spray head is set flush with the finished grade in a lawn area and connects downward to a subsurface lateral water supply line. The assembly uses a Marlex street ell at the spray head base coupled to a flexible polyethylene swing joint with a maximum twenty-four-inch length configured to prevent kinking. The swing joint ties directly into the lateral line to absorb shifting soils and surface impacts without damaging the rigid pipe.
