A construction joint occurs in a concrete slab poured over a metal deck, located at the top flute of the metal deck and including keys measuring three-quarters of an inch by two feet long, extending the full depth of the concrete over the deck and spaced at four feet on center. Reinforcing steel continues through the joint unless otherwise noted with a two-foot minimum lap. Joint locations are determined per plan or specifications.
