A concrete mow strip surrounds a fence post anchored into an existing concrete footing set within undisturbed soil or compacted fill. Two continuous number 4 reinforcing bars run longitudinally through the mow strip, which features a one-half inch radius edge and control joints at ten feet maximum spacing. The finish grade of the landscape meets the top edges of the concrete mow strip.
