The shrub or lawn head is set flush with the finish grade and adjusted for topsoil or mulch settlement. A PVC riser connects the head to schedule 40 threaded elbows, a schedule 80 nipple, and a pre-fabricated swing joint assembly tied into the PVC lateral. All threaded PVC pipe is schedule 80 and fittings are schedule 40, sealed with Teflon tape on male threads only. The assembly must be installed so piping does not contact the lateral, and risers are temporarily capped for pressure testing.
