An irrigation trench section shows a main PVC line bedded at the bottom with a control wire installed beside and below the top of the mainline. A lateral PVC line is positioned twelve inches above the main line and separated by two inches horizontally, surrounded by sand or rock-free soil. The trench is topped with topsoil up to finish grade. All control wires for the two-wire system run inside a one-inch minimum conduit.
