A cold-formed steel header connects to vertical jamb studs using a two-by-two-inch, sixteen-gauge clip angle located at both the top and bottom of the header. The header is cut one-half inch less than the stud width and secured with three number-ten sheet metal screws each at the lag locations shown. A minimum distance of ten inches is required from the top and bottom of the header to the nearest web punch-out on the jamb stud for spans less than or equal to four feet.
