Concrete paving features a thickened turned down edge adjacent to a lawn or planting area, reinforced with number four bars at sixteen inches on center both ways over an aggregate base and compacted subgrade. An expansion joint with a turned down edge and score line includes a three-eighths inch wide joint held felt down one-half inch and sealed with Sonneborn elastomeric caulk. Smooth slip dowels measuring one-half inch in diameter by twelve inches long are spaced at twenty-four inches on center with one end greased. A saw cut score line extends one-quarter of the concrete depth.
