Nominal two-by-four wood decking bears over a supporting frame constructed of two-inch square hollow structural sections. A continuous six-inch by nine-inch wood block is fastened to the structural steel framing using wood screws. A continuous one-eighth-inch stainless steel plate is integrated into the vertical face behind the wood blocking, with the bottom of the wood block secured to the steel plate via wood screws. An eighth-inch typical gap is maintained between the decking components.
