Native grasses and perennials are spaced according to plans and plant lists with a minimum depth of twelve inches. The root flare collar is set flush at the finished grade. A three-inch deep layer of mulch is applied over the plant bed mix while keeping the root flare uncovered. The subgrade is scarified to a depth of four inches and recompacted prior to placing the plant bed mix.
