The asphalt pavement assembly consists of a two-inch hot mix asphalt concrete surface course over a two-inch hot mix asphalt concrete base course. Below the asphalt layers lies a twelve-inch base course compacted to ninety-five percent dry density per ASTM D698. The entire assembly rests on a compacted subgrade.
