This assembly features a prefabricated metal planter box set upon a concrete slab, positioned between a building foundation and an existing basement wall requiring shoring. The planter contains a twelve-inch layer of Class II permeable drain rock at the base, which houses a perforated pipe installed at a 0.5 percent slope for drainage. Above the rock, an eighteen-inch minimum depth of bioretention soil mix is provided, topped by a twelve-inch ponding depth and a two-inch freeboard. The total interior height of the planter is forty-eight inches, with the soil surface level established per plan. The exterior edge of the planter is located four inches from the property line and adjacent to a sidewalk.
