A subdrainage assembly is configured beneath a tree planting pit, sitting on a compacted subgrade sized per civil drawings. A four-inch perforated pipe is embedded in drain rock adjacent to the rootball zone. A drainage course with a five percent slope directs water toward the subdrainage system. Planting soil fills the excavated pit around the rootball with one-to-one side slopes.
