A concrete mow strip sits flush with the finish grade of the landscape around a vertical fence post. The concrete section measures fourteen inches wide by six inches deep, reinforced longitudinally with two continuous number four rebars. Control joints are spaced at a maximum of ten feet on center and typically located at each fence post with a half-inch radius edge. The mow strip bears on undisturbed soil or compacted fill while protecting the existing concrete footing below.
