The sawcut control joint features a concrete slab over a compacted aggregate base and subgrade, with a top sawcut notch aligned above a reinforcing wire mesh or rebar. The doweled construction joint separates pour A and pour B with a formed vertical edge, joined across the gap by a smooth dowel bar enclosed in a dowel sleeve on one side to allow horizontal movement while maintaining load transfer.
