A 3-inch flanged hydrometer in a normally closed configuration is housed within a standard 18-inch deep valve box with an extension, set below finish grade. The assembly rests on a concrete paver and 3 inches of compacted gravel inside a 6-inch concrete masonry unit block enclosure. The mainline connects to both sides of the valve via flanged fittings matching the valve and mainline sizes, schedule 80 PVC threaded nipples at least 6 inches in length, and schedule 80 PVC female threaded adapters. Waterproof connections tie the flow sensor cable and system wires in conduit to the controller, with 30 inches of coiled wire provided from the controller.
