Perennials are installed in a triangular planting layout with equal spacing between plants as specified in the planting schedule. Containers are removed from the root ball prior to placement in excavated pits. Pits are carefully backfilled with topsoil around the root ball. A three-inch depth of mulch is applied over the planting area while keeping three to four inches away from the plant stem.
