An automatic drain valve assembly is installed at low points along a non-potable purple schedule 40 PVC lateral line buried a minimum of eighteen inches deep. The King auto drain valve is set at a forty-five degree angle and positioned over a minimum of two cubic feet of three-quarters-inch drain rock. Filter fabric is placed over the drain rock and valve assembly before backfilling with decomposed granite fine or SP sand. A continuous detectable warning tape is installed twelve inches above the lateral line. The top twelve inches of backfill consists of watered native soil with screened rock one inch in diameter and larger, compacted to ninety percent relative compaction and graded flush.
