The guardrail assembly consists of a 1.90-inch outer diameter schedule 40 steel pipe top rail and 1.05-inch outer diameter schedule 40 steel pipe intermediate rails set above an adjacent surface and a concrete curb. Posts are spaced at four feet zero inches on center maximum, with eight equally spaced horizontal rails spanning three feet six inches typical unless otherwise noted. Posts are set in core-drilled holes two inches larger than the post diameter, filled with non-shrink grout. All steel components are hot-dipped galvanized steel with all welds ground smooth and field welds cold galvanized.
