A steel pipe with a maximum diameter of 12 inches penetrates a rated partition assembly, surrounded by an optional steel sleeve with a maximum diameter of 20 inches. The annular space between the pipe and the opening is sealed with a minimum 5/8-inch thick firestopping sealant. The pipe is wrapped with 2-inch thick heavy-density glass fiber pipe insulation.
