An area drain assembly is installed within decomposed granite paving that slopes toward the drain at a maximum of two percent. A four-inch diameter NDS satin brass grate sits flush with the paving surface above a four-inch diameter PVC riser. The riser connects to a ninety-degree elbow that ties into the storm drain system below. The paving is supported by a Class 2 aggregate base over twenty-four inches of imported topsoil.
