An eight-inch steel post extends through concrete paving into a concrete footing below. The post is set in non-shrink grout within a cast-in-place, core-drilled, or sleeved opening. The subgrade beneath the footing is compacted per the geotechnical report. Overlapping core holes may be used if needed to accommodate the cover plate.
