An irrigation or utility ball valve is installed on a PVC mainline and housed within a specified rectangular valve box installed flush with the finish grade. The assembly rests on a minimum one cubic foot drain rock sump with a six-inch depth, and each valve box is supported by four bricks typically. The PVC mainline connects to the specified ball valve using PVC male adapters, a galvanized union, and a nipple, with pipeline depth determined per specifications.
