A five-foot long by four-foot wide by ten-inch high granite curb rests upon a seven-inch compacted aggregate base and a three-inch compacted subgrade. An expansion joint separates the granite curb from a ten-inch concrete gutter detailed on civil drawings, which abuts an asphalt surface. On the opposite side, cast-in-place concrete paving ties into the curb assembly over the compacted aggregate base.
