A root watering system is installed around the plant root ball with the finish grade matching the top of the mulch in the tree basin. The Rain Bird RWS unit includes a thirty-six inch by four inch wide rigid basket weave canister, a one gallon per minute bubbler with integrated check valve, a four inch locking grate, and a twelve inch swing assembly with a one-half inch male National Pipe Thread inlet. The inlet connects to a polyvinyl chloride schedule forty tee or elbow and a polyvinyl chloride or polyethylene lateral pipe. An optional sock is included for sandy soils.
