An air vacuum relief valve with a one-half-inch schedule 40 threaded ball valve connects to an irrigation dripline routed through a protective valve box. A minimum of 12 inches of PVC hose is allowed inside the valve box to direct flushed water outside the enclosure. Finish grade surrounds the valve box assembly, which is bedded in gravel and supported by compacted soil.
