The plant crown is set at nursery height with the planting pit excavated to twice the diameter of the rootball. The rootball is scarified on container material, and all burlap is removed on balled and burlapped material. Backfill consists of topsoil per specifications with added fertilizer, finished with a layer of bark mulch per specifications.
