A thickened edge for a concrete slab or pavement maintains a minimum depth of 1'-0" with a 5" wide vertical face. The concrete edge is cast against the subgrade sloped at the angle of repose. Finish grade requires an exposed edge free of shiners or tool marks. Keyed references specify construction joint and finish requirements.
