The assembly consists of a 4-inch layer of 3/8-inch clear crushed aggregate adjacent to a concrete paving slab, both supported by a 6-inch compacted aggregate base. A geotextile fabric separates the aggregate base from the compacted subgrade below. A 6-inch geotextile extension is provided under adjacent paving where sequencing allows. Trenching is restricted from occurring within 24 inches of the aggregate paving.
