Decomposed granite paving with a return filter sits atop an aggregate base, retained at its perimeter by a one-quarter inch by six-inch continuous circular stainless steel plate. The stainless steel plate is machine-bolted to the concrete curb edge of the deck support at two feet on center. Wood decking over joists bears on the adjacent concrete curb. General notes require shop drawings for all metal work and confirmation of all edging and header locations with the landscape architect.
