An eight-inch class 160 or schedule 40 PVC mainline connects to a gate valve using schedule 40 PVC male adapters and threaded fittings sealed with Teflon tape. The gate valve sits above a six-inch layer of three-quarters-inch drainrock and is enclosed by an eight-inch PVC pipe notched to fit over the mainline pipe. Pea gravel and three total bricks surround the valve enclosure below grade. A round plastic valve box with a bolt-down lid, non-potable markings, and a ten-inch top dimension caps the assembly. The top of the valve box is positioned one-half inch above finished grade in planter areas and one and one-half inches above finished grade in sod areas, with a four-inch depth dimension from the lid to the surrounding grade. The lid is heat branded with GV.
